Sunday Scripture

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us...Romans 5:5

New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church...was established in 1823 on White Oak Creek in Stewart County, Tennessee. Thus as a body it continued to march on until the Rebellion of 1861 brought devastation and ruin on our Country, our homes and families. Through which time they had very little regular preaching and the Church got scattered.

The story continues... but when I Googled again to complete this... I could NOT find it...sigh.

This Log Cabin was dedicated on September 5, 1935 by Rev. M.C. Powers...Essie Allsobrooks, my maternal GreatGramma, was an active member and we happily celebrated her 80th birthday on these grounds, almost 30 years ago. It is the Church, where my Mama grew up. And still today, her family has strong ties. They continue to Worship...at this little Log Cabin on White Oak Creek.

Lovin' The Rain

I love these slow rainy mornings...they bring such peace. No, I won't be spending any time out of doors, but that's just fine. I will mosey around the house doing laundry, stripping the bed and whatever else I feel like getting into.

No Grandbabies here today to enjoy the swing...Son-in-love (thanks Diane) is a carpenter and isn't working because of the rain. And Kell's kids are out of school.

Our garden is getting a good watering, but thanks to our resident rabbit...we will have NO corn or green beans...sigh. Oh, And a big thanks to our killer squirrel! Who, has all but destroyed the scarecrow wearing the straw hat. I watched her ripping the poor things overalls to shreds...must be nesting???

I can't believe how everything is growing! And after this lovely rain things will be even more lush and green!!! Ahh...summer.

I pray you all have a wonderful Monday...I'm going to keep the coffee fresh and HOT on this lovely rainy morning.

Sunday Scripture

He has shown you O, man what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you.
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.

Photo's and Stories

Sweet Diane, over at Aunt Di's Experimental Life tagged us to play along on this fun meme. So, I decided to join her in the fun.
1.) Find my 6th photo file;
2.) Choose the 6th photo in the file;
3.) Post and tell story and
4.) Tag 6 friends to carry meme forward.

Here goes...

This is my firstborn Grandbaby...Madison Elizabeth. She is, as I've said, a doer of all things! She loves people and has a soft heart and MANY friends. This gal made straight A's all year and the Principal's list every semester. In celebration of their hard work, she and others on the list, enjoyed lunch with the Principal on Monday. Most importantly...she loves Jesus and isn't shy about telling others. She makes this ol' grammy so happy! (6th grader Madison...in 6th vertical photo of 6th file)

This would be Ian Thomas, (named after Tomer) my firstborn Grandson! Never having a boy, he has brought unexpected joys to our lives. Like, having Papa take off his training wheels and at the age of 3 riding that bike with NO fear!!! He loves long bike rides with Papa...I'm talking 15 miles and he just turned 9 years old! Skateboarding, Swimming, Baseball and boundless energy. He is shy but soft hearted. And loves his baby brother Elek so much...he ends up ticking Elek off! He also loves Jesus and is active in church. What a Godly man he's growing up to be!!! (6th horizontal photo)

I'm supposed to tag 6 others to play along...but I will leave it up to you. Come on, everybody let's see those photo's and hear your stories. Tag...you're it!!!

Love to All!

Got Nothing Exciting

I don't have anything exciting or interesting to write of...my days are spent taking care of my two youngest Grandbabies, as most of you already know. Today, has been a rip roaring day!
I got myself a new cell phone last week and this morning, Elek baptized it! Yep, right in my cup of coffee!!! I had a lapse in judgment and left it on the table. Normally, I take it with me because Elek is nosey and into EVERYTHING!!! Thankfully, it's working, but the front screen is rather foggy.

Xavier (pictured above) is now on the couch behind me...numb, and needing a nap...which I am praying for. I so need some quiet time! Xavier aka Scooter, is very opinionated and speaks his mind...that is not good when you are only 3 years old! He told one of his Sunday School teachers that he didn't like her...Oh, Lord.

He was upset earlier and told me that he was walking home. And believe me, he would attempt it...I have never seen a more determined child. So, his Aunt Kelly, wondered how he planned on getting in when he got there. I asked if Sebastion would let him in and he so seriously, replies "No, he's a dog!" I got the stink eye from that boy...he is a corker!

Hallelujah...Hallelujah...he is asleep!!! This ol' grammy is in dire need of a big, big, huge cup of coffee and QUIET!
Signing off for now...ahhh.

Love to all!
