It's Unbelievable

As most of you know...I am not a morning person. But, here it is not even Noontime and I have been up for 8 hours! Goodness, I was wandering the Walmart at 5:30 a.m.! I know, I can't believe it either. LOl. I have since been to Salon Centric (my favorite Beauty Supply) and Trentwood Farms. Where I stocked up on fresh Fruits & Veggies and strolled through their Floral Department, sipping an Irish Cream Coffee which they have waiting when you walk through their doors...and yes, it's free. I love that place!
My Produce has been cleaned and put away, I have vacuumned and my sweet little house is in order. All is right with the world.
Next on my list, is a trip to the Pharmacy and then this ol' grammy's gotta wash the grey right outta my hair because tomorrow, I go to the Hairdresser for highlights and a cut. I could sure use a new do but don't have a clue what that is...life goes on.
Oh, and I must tell you, that our weather is glorious and since Spring is my favorite season, I am a happy, happy girl. God's handiwork never ceases to amaze me...don't you just catch your breath at the colors bursting from the ground?
I have a little confession to make...I wanted to take my scissors to the neighbors Forsythia Bush. Shhh... Oh, how I longed to fill a vase with it's branches...sigh. Guess I should get my own Forsythia Bush and not covet my neighbors...sure don't want to break any Commandments! Well, it's dinner time. I am off to make myself a Tuna Fish sandwich and enjoy the rest of this beautiful, sunshiney day.

Keep On Keepin' On

If the day looks kinder gloomy
And your chances kinder slim,
If the situation's puzzlin'
And the prospect's awful grim,
If perplexities keep pressin'
Till hope is nearly gone,
Just bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.

Frettin' never wins a fight
And fumin' never pays;
There ain't no use in broodin'
In these pessimistic ways;
Smile just kinder cheerfully
Though hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.

There ain't no use in growlin'
And grumblin' all the time,
When music's ringin' everywhere
And everything's a rhyme.
Just keep on smilin' cheerfully
If hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on. ~Unknown

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.

Yawning On Sunday Morning

Well, it's that time of year again. Tonight we Spring Forward and in doing so lose an hour of sleep. Now, I know that all of you chipper, morning people like my Tomer won't be phased a lick! You will happily hit the floor, singing as you go. But me, the slow, not so chipper morning person...will drag myself out of bed, yawning at 6:30 A.M. feeling like junk. Why? Because it's really only 5:30 A.M. and my body knows it! You can change the Clocks but you can't fool me it says. And no matter how I long to sleep, getting up is a must, because we Sunday School Teacher's have the most important of jobs!
So, the Coffee Pot is set. And after a Hot Shower and a cup of my favorite Brew...this ol' grammy will face the day, maybe just a wee bit slower. (if that's possible) But with a smile on my face, as we (Tomer & I) do what the Lord leads us to do and that's to love children and show them Jesus. Happy Sabbath!

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15.) I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it". Mark 10:14&15.

Those Were The Days

Have you noticed that mailboxes like this one have all but disappeared? Growing up, they were all over the place in our city! Yesterday while running errands, I had something to drop in the mail and I passed not one of these blue boxes on the path that I had taken. Oh, I did get it in the mail, but I had to drive to the Post Office and drop it in their drive-thru box...sigh.
I know this is probably money saving for the USPS and it surely guarantees less stops for our Mail Carriers, but it makes me sad. The world as I new it...is changing. With the art of Letter writing almost unheard of and the paying of Bills and doing our Banking On-line, something's got to give...so, goodbye old friend. I will add you to my list of "Those were the days." And I will sorely miss them!
