Remembering...
It is a sad morning. I got the news last night that my Uncle Cliff had passed away.
He had been suffering from 2 types of Leukemia, which made it very hard to treat, let alone cure. Please pray for my cousins, Sandi and Cindy as they grieve? They have been such wonderful caring daughters and I am so proud of the loving care that they showered on their Dad. It is, a very emotional time for them since they lost their Mom (my Daddy's younger Sister) to cancer, over 26 years ago at the young age of 49.
Pray, that they will feel God's presence and His peace that passeth understanding. I am waiting to hear about the arrangements and then will prepare myself for a trip to Tennessee to be with them.
So, I sit sipping coffee and remembering our childhoods. We were such a close family. Aunt Mildred, Uncle Cliff, Cindy and Sandi were over often...our parents playing Pinochle, my Mama and Uncle Cliff teasingly giving one another a hard time. We kids, sprawled all over the living room floor, watching TV or playing games...our lives so intertwined. They are, forever a part of me.

Happy Birthday Ian
Today, my first Grandboy Ian is 10 years old. With him I learned about little boys...they are busy, fearless and tiring. But, God made them so for a reason and today, I am thankful for this boy who fills our lives with adventure.
His Supper request was Venison Roast, Rice Pilaf, Macaroni and Cheese,Chocolate Cake with Butter Cream Frosting and Neopolitan Ice Cream. This ol' Grammy made the Roasts and Pilaf, his Mama makes awesome Mac and Cheese and his Aunt Manda made his cake from scratch and as you can see, it was a Skate Board with his favorite Skater's photo on it. Whew...We ate a boat load of Carbs!
Here is one happy birthday boy...his Mama and Daddy surprised him with a motorized Scooter! Oh, did he enjoy zooming up and down the block in front of his new house...the Turpin's are one happy family and that makes for one happy grammy! Thank you Lord for my Ian.
Love to All!

Perusing...Monday
Baked Apples For Dessert
After our Spring forward yesterday and getting up at my usual time of 6:30 a.m. (my body knew it was really 5:30!) to get myself ready for Sunday School and Church...it was slow going this morning. This ol' grammy was pleasantly surprised when Kell carried Short Boy (Elek) in and put him in my lap, still asleep. Ahhh...he slept until almost 9:00. But after that, it was off to the races! Let me, just say that keeping track of that boy is nigh on impossible! He climbs, he runs, never walks and Oh, he is fearless. Sure doesn't take after this chicken liver, because if I thought there was a remote possibility that I'd get hurt, I would never attempt it! And my house when he left...that's another story.
Around here, Monday is always catch up day. I vacuumed, dusted, threw Supper in the Crock Pot and started on the laundry. Then, I went through my recipe's because our Life Group is having a Pot Luck Dinner and Movie Night this week and I wanted to make sure, that I had all of my supplies for what I will be cooking. Thank the Lord, I do! That means there will be no last minute run to the grocery store...Hallelujah!
While perusing (like that word?) my recipe collection, I came upon one for Baked Apples. It was simple to put together, had no Butter...sounded good and was good for us. So, my day was spent caring for Short Boy, doing chores and enjoying Tea and Baked Apples with my Tomer...I am blessed.

Everything Is Amazing
It seems like forever since I've had anything to say...but here I am on this Saturday morning. The house is filled with sunshine, the rooms are bright with light and I find myself thinking of Daffodils and Tulips. Ahhh...Spring is in the air! As I was out and about yesterday, I found my steps lighter and my mood as high as the skies.
Since Spring, has always been my favorite season I am putting away old things and bringing on the new. Just as God does...Winter is a time of rest, now with Spring comes renewal. The Earth will bring forth it's splendor of colors and light and rains and Daffodils, and Hyacinths Oh, and Tomer's Tulips...magnificent!
So, now with light filling my home...I feel the need to clean, especially since the light shows every dark little corner that was hidden for a season. Wow! Just like our hearts, at times, when we try to hide bitterness and hard feelings, forgetting that the Lord knows every dark corner of our Beings. And He, longs to fill us with His light...just like He renews the Earth every Spring, He will renew our hearts and minds and fill us with joy unspeakable...Oh, He is the reason my heart sings this morning...He is the reason I breathe.
My heart sings His Praise again...Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb!
Love to All!
