Men At Work

It is a cool morning here in Southeast Michigan...Brrr. It is overcast and gray but Tomer always has work to be done. Today, he is crafting me a new garden bench, since the other one has seen better days!

Xavie is Papa's helper. He says "I am Papa's worker." So, there he sits with tools Papa feels safe for him to work with...Oh, and excuse the mismatch of clothing on the boy. He insisted on wearing shorts this morning when his Mama dressed him. And these are the only warm things that this ol' grammy, could muster up for him. Don't ya just love that sandals and socks? Great combo eh?

Our latest edition to the yard...it sits right next to the back porch so that I can enjoy the soothing sounds of the water. Since we love kids, and find them such blessings in our lives. And have always worked in Children's Ministries...As soon as we spotted this...it was perfect. Well, I think it's time to grab myself a coffee...God makes everything glorious, even cool gray days! \O/

Tournament Of Champions

It's that time of year again...Playoffs. My firstborn Grandbaby, Maddy plays fast pitch softball. And yesterday was their first tournament game! My Maddy is the Catcher pictured in this photo. Ooh, The game very was exciting! They won 4 to 3...so they get to move up and play again tonight!

Another photo of my catcher...she gets her athletic abilities from my Mama who was Captain of her High school Basketball team. I am so not athletic!

This is the beginning of the game where my Maddy started out playing 3rd base. She gets jostled around from 3rd base to catcher and even sometimes pitcher. She was chosen for the All Star team where she will play 2nd base...It's an exciting time of year for us...Play Ball!

Sunday Scripture

My Morning

What a beautiful morning...just roaming the yard, enjoying my coffee and the company and hugs of my man...Sunrise over Playland.

Another view from of our garden...floods this ol' gals soul with peace!

While sitting in the truck at our local garden center...this is the corner of the neighborhood where I grew up. Where Wendy's now sits was the Village Market. Many journeys were made here where we bought Our Penny Candy...wish the Grandbabies could experience the joy of happily heading home, with a sack full of candy, that you chose piece by piece!!!

Our local Garden Center...this corner was vacant when we moved to the neighborhood.

Caught sight of this Classic Car sitting at the gas station...this was a gas station, when I was a kid. But it had a garage, where they actually repaired cars! And was not a stop in...for goodies such as coffee, latte's, pop and hot dogs. Yes, times have changed...but this corner, holds lots of wonderful childhood memories...of family, friends and Oh, what happiness!!!

Have a peaceful, blessed weekend!!!

Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer

Tomer watering and Xavier cooling off...Em was inside napping where the A/C was blasting!!!

What a glorious day...HOT and muggy!!! It started off with me heading to the back porch...Bible and coffee in hand. Ooh, it was a hazy morning. The air damp and thick. Just a hint to what the afternoon would be. The Grandbabies spent time riding bikes with Papa and jumping through their Crazy Daisy to cool off. While sitting on the porch swing...out of nowhere, this old song by Nat King Cole pops into my head and I have been singing it all day...does anyone remember this Golden Oldie!?

Love, love, love this! Ahhh, Yes...Summer is here! Psst...I'm pretty sure, that the name Crazy Daisy, led my mind back to this old song!

\O/....Praise the Lord!

Perfect Love

Colors from our window box

After a busy weekend...and being gone from home so much. I was glad to see Monday roll around. Oh, don't get me wrong my weekend was good. I saw lots of old friends...Church family. And even though, we worship together no more...we are and always will be...family.
I started off my Saturday with a Wedding Shower and then sadly my day ended with a visit to the Funeral Home. Weddings and Funerals...Life's beginnings and endings. Yet, when you think about it...both are new journeys. One of new love and hope of a life shared together. The other, of God's perfect love, with no more sorrows. Weddings and Funerals...We are the Bride of Christ! Eternal Life with the one who loves us most! Awesome!
How Great is our God!!!

Missing Daddy

Photo of my precious Mama and Daddy.

Drawing our Maddy sent to her Big Papa...it proudly hung on his bedroom wall until removed after he passed away.

Daddy's chair now is empty. His presence here no more.
I long to sit beside him...and talk as days before.

Some days are long and weary...I yearn to hear his voice.
He went home to be with Jesus, of that we had no choice.

But Praise the Lord, he's waiting...upon God's distant shore.
Where again we'll walk together...and rejoice forever more.

I love and miss you Daddy...Your firstborn baby...Patricia.

Ahhh...Summer

="
Summer has arrived...Hallelujah! Tomer drove his last bus route on Thursday and is enjoying his first ever...ALL Summer vacation! And let me just say, that we are taking advantage of meeting on the back porch to relax and share a cup of coffee...Yep, this is the life!!! Ahhh!

The view from the porch swing...this would be the place that I solve the problems of the world. Read Gods Word or at times do nothing at all! The Grandbabies will leave their play, stop by to sit with this ol' Gram...share a hug, slurp my coffee or just plain aggravate one another...or drive me crazy...which Tomer says "is a short trip." LOL

Playland was lovingly built by Papa. (Tomer) Beneath this house is a SANDBOX...it keeps them content for hours. And it keeps me busy...today after giving the house a thorough cleaning. I came in to find a trail of sand...in the kitchen, through the living room, into the bathroom. And when I washed my hands and grabbed the hand towel...you guessed it SAND stuck to my once clean hands. What's a Grammy to do?
Well, when they left for the day I vacuumed, swiffered, and cleaned up grit. It is Sand free again...til tomorrow...when I will be blessed to do it all again!

Sunday Scripture

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us...Romans 5:5

New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church...was established in 1823 on White Oak Creek in Stewart County, Tennessee. Thus as a body it continued to march on until the Rebellion of 1861 brought devastation and ruin on our Country, our homes and families. Through which time they had very little regular preaching and the Church got scattered.

The story continues... but when I Googled again to complete this... I could NOT find it...sigh.

This Log Cabin was dedicated on September 5, 1935 by Rev. M.C. Powers...Essie Allsobrooks, my maternal GreatGramma, was an active member and we happily celebrated her 80th birthday on these grounds, almost 30 years ago. It is the Church, where my Mama grew up. And still today, her family has strong ties. They continue to Worship...at this little Log Cabin on White Oak Creek.

Lovin' The Rain

I love these slow rainy mornings...they bring such peace. No, I won't be spending any time out of doors, but that's just fine. I will mosey around the house doing laundry, stripping the bed and whatever else I feel like getting into.

No Grandbabies here today to enjoy the swing...Son-in-love (thanks Diane) is a carpenter and isn't working because of the rain. And Kell's kids are out of school.

Our garden is getting a good watering, but thanks to our resident rabbit...we will have NO corn or green beans...sigh. Oh, And a big thanks to our killer squirrel! Who, has all but destroyed the scarecrow wearing the straw hat. I watched her ripping the poor things overalls to shreds...must be nesting???

I can't believe how everything is growing! And after this lovely rain things will be even more lush and green!!! Ahh...summer.

I pray you all have a wonderful Monday...I'm going to keep the coffee fresh and HOT on this lovely rainy morning.

He has shown you O, man what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you.
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.

Photo's and Stories

Sweet Diane, over at Aunt Di's Experimental Life tagged us to play along on this fun meme. So, I decided to join her in the fun.
1.) Find my 6th photo file;
2.) Choose the 6th photo in the file;
3.) Post and tell story and
4.) Tag 6 friends to carry meme forward.

Here goes...

This is my firstborn Grandbaby...Madison Elizabeth. She is, as I've said, a doer of all things! She loves people and has a soft heart and MANY friends. This gal made straight A's all year and the Principal's list every semester. In celebration of their hard work, she and others on the list, enjoyed lunch with the Principal on Monday. Most importantly...she loves Jesus and isn't shy about telling others. She makes this ol' grammy so happy! (6th grader Madison...in 6th vertical photo of 6th file)

This would be Ian Thomas, (named after Tomer) my firstborn Grandson! Never having a boy, he has brought unexpected joys to our lives. Like, having Papa take off his training wheels and at the age of 3 riding that bike with NO fear!!! He loves long bike rides with Papa...I'm talking 15 miles and he just turned 9 years old! Skateboarding, Swimming, Baseball and boundless energy. He is shy but soft hearted. And loves his baby brother Elek so much...he ends up ticking Elek off! He also loves Jesus and is active in church. What a Godly man he's growing up to be!!! (6th horizontal photo)

I'm supposed to tag 6 others to play along...but I will leave it up to you. Come on, everybody let's see those photo's and hear your stories. Tag...you're it!!!

Got Nothing Exciting

I don't have anything exciting or interesting to write of...my days are spent taking care of my two youngest Grandbabies, as most of you already know. Today, has been a rip roaring day!
I got myself a new cell phone last week and this morning, Elek baptized it! Yep, right in my cup of coffee!!! I had a lapse in judgment and left it on the table. Normally, I take it with me because Elek is nosey and into EVERYTHING!!! Thankfully, it's working, but the front screen is rather foggy.

Xavier (pictured above) is now on the couch behind me...numb, and needing a nap...which I am praying for. I so need some quiet time! Xavier aka Scooter, is very opinionated and speaks his mind...that is not good when you are only 3 years old! He told one of his Sunday School teachers that he didn't like her...Oh, Lord.

He was upset earlier and told me that he was walking home. And believe me, he would attempt it...I have never seen a more determined child. So, his Aunt Kelly, wondered how he planned on getting in when he got there. I asked if Sebastion would let him in and he so seriously, replies "No, he's a dog!" I got the stink eye from that boy...he is a corker!

Hallelujah...Hallelujah...he is asleep!!! This ol' grammy is in dire need of a big, big, huge cup of coffee and QUIET!
Signing off for now...ahhh.

Love to all!
