Ramblin' Grammy
click to get Orkut Myspace have a good day Comments & Graphics
We have been busy around the ol' Andrews Homeplace. The basement has been scrubbed and is now minus lots of junk...where does it all come from? I got my new washer and dryer in and have actually enjoyed laundrocizing! But, I know at some point the newness will wear off and it will be my least favorite chore once again..sigh.
We, had a heartbreaking time at the ballfield last night...sigh. Ian's team was tied for 1st place and lost by one run! I know that 2nd place is good, but to see the disappointment on by first grandboys face, made this ol' grammy want to cry.
Today is going to be a day of leisure...gonna wash this grey right outta my hair. Give myself a mani/pedi, finish reading my book and maybe even watch an old movie. Don't worry, I read my Bible outside at the Bisto Table this morning. It was too cool on the back porch swing, so Tomer moved the table and chairs into the sunshine.
Ah, it felt mahvelous!
Seems, all I do is ramble anymore...but my life is full! My grandbabies are happy active children and we are so blessed by everything they do. God, has given us the privilege of having a family. When Dr.'s said it was impossible and that we should consider adopting...God had a plan for us. He knew even before I was born that I would be a Mama and Grammy. Taste and see that the Lord is good...He is...all the time!

This Blog...Temporarily Interrupted
Our Miss Em's team the Angels ended the season undefeated! Here, our little gals are receiving their pins, after winning the first round of the All Star games yesterday.
Ian pitching in yesterdays heat...The A's are tied for first. This Wednesday night they will play the tie breaker...Go A's!
Maddy, spent the night with this ol' Grammy last night. She, Ian and I shared lots of time under Umbrella's at Em's game today. There was absolutely no shade and Mr. Sun was intense. Maddy's, team the Tigers took 1st place and she is on to the All Star games next week!
Beware...this face may not be as innocent as it seems. LOL! That's our Xavier, hamming it up for the camera and enjoying his Sissy's game. Well, he spends most of the game with his friends...running, playing and drinking lots of beverage
The Angels winning streak ended today, that means the season is over for our gals.
Great job Angels...you made us proud.

Blessed Are Daddy's Children
Mama and Daddy the day after they married...April 1950.
I always, find myself a little sad on these special days. My sweet Daddy died suddenly. And these days, I am reminded that I simply wasn't ready to let him go.
There was 8 of us Musser children and Daddy was so proud of each and every one of us. I will miss him always.
He quoted the the bold part of this Scripture often.
Psalm 127:4-5 (New International Version)
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth. (Daddy said children, not sons)
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Happy Fathers day!

Quiet....
It is unusually quiet here this morning...I am alone. Just me, myself and I. No television, just my handy dandy notebook and a nice freshly ground cup of coffee...Mmmm.
The beginning of Summer vacation is but a few days away...Tomer and Kell will be on vacation and I will only have Em and Xavie, 3 days during the week. Tomer and I, have our list of to-do's ready and I am so excited to be getting some things done around here. First, on my list is painting the living room and play room...sigh. I still, haven't made a final decision on paint colors though because I have been curtain shopping and so far...nothing thrills me. Oh, well nothing life shattering.
Next...the BASEMENT! That place is going to be purged of a lot of junk. I have decorations for every season and holiday. What hasn't been used in a while is out of here! Then...after removing all of the cobwebs, I will scrub every nook and cranny! Oh, and the bathroom down there needs a total makeover! Cause the toilet started leaking and since it was rarely used, the tiles need to be replaced. Lots to do, lots of plans but we've got all Summer to enjoy the gardens and just hanging around the house. God is so good!
Then, in August our campsites are reserved in East Tawas, our favorite spot on Lake Huron. Our girls and families, Tomer and I are counting down the days. Sandy beaches, a gorgeous Lighthouse and lots of great shops to browse in.
Well, I'd best hush and make my dessert for our Church Leadership Picnic at Elizabeth Park tonight...have a wonderful day!

Expectations
"It is not your job to change people. Only to demonstrate what God is like."
I try, to always keep a notebook close by in case a thought or idea comes to mind. Nowadays, I have to jot down the things I hear that leave an impression or touch me deep within...because franky, this ol' gal's memory isn't what it used to be.
So, tonight as I leafed through my handy, dandy notebook. The above quote jumped out at me! And I thought, how many times have I questioned another's actions? As a Christian, I know, that I have been guilty of this...not in a malicious way. But maybe, a holier than thou way. You know, the thoughts that run through your mind when someone doesn't keep their word or live up to your expectations. Because they don't serve God the way you think they should. Oh, yeah...guilty!
Maybe they do things that I would never do...never. But, my convictions are just that...my convictions. I know fully, that everyone, has to work out their own salvation. With fear and trembling, I might add, because God's Word says so. But, the reality of it is, when this life is done and we face God...We will not be asked to give account for others...We will stand alone.
So, the only job I have is to change myself...I am ready.

Trees...
How are things in your neck of the woods? Here, we are experiencing our warmest Spring ever! At least, that's what Jerry Hodak our local weatherman says. Just last week when coming out of the Mart, Tomer said " Man, this feels like July not May!" He was right...Jerry said so.
One good thing about it, is our flowers and vegetables are all in the ground. And with this heat and a fair amount of rain, things are filling in nicely. Things are green and lush!
We, are in the middle of redoing some landscaping out front. Everything, has to do well in shade...Any hints? My Tomer is a lover of trees. Has been since a boy, when his Uncle Willy, instilled the love of planting in him. So, that means our front yard is pure shade, this time of year. The huge Maple Trees have taken over and the shrubs and Weeping Cherry tree are looking plumb pitiful. Having no sun, has surely stunted their growth. But, as Tomer always says the trees insulate our home. And I have to agree, because on these hot days our A/C doesn't come on until way late in the morning.
Tomer, is a man of purpose...Always has a plan, a list or both. He, knows why he does everything! He, doesn't understand winging it, spur of the moment and never flies by the seat of his pants. Nope, it's 1...2...3...or...A...B...C. (sounds like a Jackson 5 song) At the moment he is...1. mowing, so that he can...2. fertilize, because it is...3. going to rain. Don't worry, he uses no chemicals in our yard. It's Cock-a-doodle-do! Yes, folks that is the name of it. We, have a storm drain close by and he is mindful that all run off, flows to the river.
Well, I'd best quit my rambling, finish my coffee and enjoy the back porch swing a bit. The rains headed our way will keep me inside tomorrow. Tomer's plans are right on schedule.
