Chicago, Leroy And A Wedding
We arrived in Chicago safe and sound. Not thinking, about the time change we were there way ahead of Mama's flight. Which turned out to be a blessing since we had no clue as to where we were going.
And the traffic...just let me say, I was glad that I was not doing the driving.
But the skyline was beautiful!
This is a Limo Driver's solution, to the gate not going up, on the departure side of the Cellular Lot. We watched, as he just pushed it out of the way...wood splintering everywhere. You should have seen the look on the face of the Airport Policeman when he came through on patrol...it was priceless. Midway Airport, is located on the South side of Chicago...can you guess what I was singing? Oh, yeah...it was Jim Croce's, "Leroy Brown." I love me some Jim Croce!
Glenn & Tammy's vows, which they wrote themselves. And my cousin, Glenn didn't even need a cheat sheet! Meet Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Clark, who are now Honeymooning in Hawaii!
This is my Mama, Aunt Brenda (Daddy's Sister) and myself. We shared a wonderful time with Glenn. Made special, by the love and support of family. And of course, lots of hugs because we Southerners are all about hugging! It was, so good to spend
time with Mama...we talked much, laughed much and loved much!!!

Family Time
Emilee and Grammy
Since we will be leaving for Chicago, in the morning. We celebrated, our Divine Miss Em's, birthday tonight. She requested Fried Cabbage and Noodles and Lime Pineapple Pie for her Birthday Meal. I just put candles on the pie and she was one happy girl!
I am, so excited about packing up and heading out, in the morning for my cousin Glenn's Wedding. Mama has called me twice today and we cannot wait to meet up in Chicago and spend a few days together.
Family Celebrations...Birthdays...Weddings. Sweet time together...we are blessed beyond measure. God is faithful.
See you when we get back! Please pray for our travels?

Clifford aka Elek
Clifford the Big Red Dog came to visit the other morning...Yes, this is how Elek came in. Shockingly, he wore that hood up most all day, it cracked me up. He is a happy go lucky little guy...but a whirlwind that destroys the neatness of my home in no time! But, after he leaves in the afternoon I just put everything back in it's proper place, haul out my trusty vacuum and wipe down the tables...Voila, everything is neat and tidy again.
I have found, after over 12 years of caring for the grandbabies. That rather than be all churned up about the disorder and driving myself crazy...trying to keep things perfect. That in the scheme of things... it, just does not matter! They are happy and at home here. And well, isn't that what really matters? That's what I want them to remember...they are loved and always welcome, in this, their second home...Papa & Grammy's.
This is Elek lining up cars and other of his playthings...I'm thinking that he is already just a wee bit OCD. Notice everything lined up...well, every car has to be facing in the same direction and the spacing between them just so. The other night, they stopped by and he grabbed a handful of candy corn. Next thing you know...he has them lined up on the end table...all pointed in the same direction and in a perfectly straight row.
Now, if he would only pick up all of his perfectly placed items...this ol' Grammy would really be happy! Have a wonderful day...I'm certainly looking forward to mine!
Love to all!

Psalm 139:7-10 (New International Version)
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Another photo taken by Maddy...Colon Michigan...Hunting Country
Well, here it is Saturday. Where did the time go? I can't believe that I haven't blogged since Monday!
Let's see where do I begin...cause you know I lead such an exciting life. My days have been spent as always, with Elek and Xavier. Elek keeps himself busy playing with cars and dancing around, watching Playhouse Disney. Xavier goes to Preschool 4 mornings a week. So, he gets picked up by Papa at 11:30 a.m. and I must say it's mellowed him. He comes home a happy, but tired little boy. Although, on Monday he was clawed in the face by another boy and when his Aunt Kelly aked about it, his reply was "A boy attacked me." And just 2 days later, the same boy, bit him on finger! Needless to say, the boy was sent home both days and is being observed in class.
As for my news...the drain downstairs plugged up and my washing machine, upon draining, flooded the laundry room...Ugh. Tomer, has since resolved the problem and I will, after the scrubbing of the bathroom...laundrocize all afternoon.
I have the weekend to myself...Tomer and Maddy are once again in the woods of Bronson, Bow Hunting. Maddy says, she's going to bring them to their knees, crying.
Why? Because she is going to get the biggest, 20 point Buck they have ever seen!
That girl cracks me up...she has no confidence whatsoever. Not!
Mandy and family are on their way to Cedar Point for the weekend...it's their annual birthday celebration for our Emilee. Good grief...I can't believe that she will be 8 years old next week! Mandy just sent me a Happy Sweetest Day text. I didn't even remember that it was Sweetest Day! Do you celebrate Sweetest Day??? Uhm, we don't.
Mmmm...My coffee tastes extra good this morning. I have had a wonderful week...hey, you think happy...you are happy. I must admit, there are days that I have to dig my way out of depression...but dig I must! I am blessed... God is good! I have more than I need and certainly more than I deserve! Pray you have a blessed, peaceful weekend. Jesus loves you!
If I am going to accomplish anything today...I need to get myself off this computer!
Bye for now!
Love to All!

A Monday's Ponderings
This day started out busy with the Grandboys, straightening up, doing laundry and pondering on what to cook for Supper. Still haven't decided what we will be eating. But one thing for sure...we won't go hungry.
My mind is wandering, going back in time...we got a sad call this morning from Tomer's cousin Don. His Mom...Aunt Elizabeth is dying. Sad, because she is the last of Tomer's, Dads siblings. No more Aunt and Uncles on the Andrews side. Her daughter Evelyn and I were best friends, they faithfully picked me up for Church. And that is where I met my Tomer. I pray for Aunt Elizabeth this morning and thank God for her...she was always good to me. One thing we know, is that she is ready to meet the Lord and to be reunited with her loved ones. Please remember this family in your prayers?
We are also making plans for a trip to Chicago for my cousin Glenn's Wedding. Tomer and I will be leaving on the 24th. Driving to Midway Airport (south of Chicago) picking up my Mama and finishing the last leg of the trip with her. Glenn actually lives North of Chicago. So, we will drive through the city and see a few of the sights before we make our way North, Saturday evening. His Wedding, is Sunday afternoon. Oh, it will be so good to see him since we haven't been together since my Daddy's Funeral, 5 years ago. And I can't wait to meet his Bride...Tammy.
On Monday, we will take Mama back to the Airport, get her boarded and then make our way back home. It will be a fast trip. But, we want to be there for Glenn...he is an only child and both of his parents are gone. He needs family on this special day and we feel the need to be there for him.
Well, Xavier is napping. So, I should hush and go change up loads of laundry. Around here, Monday's are always catch up days because Sunday's, the Lord's Day and nothing gets done.
I've got to pick the 3 oldest Grandbabies up after School...Elek was just at the Dr. and has an ear and throat infection. So, the Dr. wants him staying in and resting...looks like I'll be Gram's taxi service for a couple of days...but I look forward to seeing their smiling faces as they rush happily to the car!
Pray blessings on your day...
Love to all!

Blessings
The weather here is changing quickly...the wind howls as I listen to things go bump in the night. Benches were tipped over, planters laying on their sides and of course, with these winds come the usual power outages. Thankfully, not us, but just down the road there are 2 schools closed because of it.
Last night, I ventured out for my usual Tuesday night coffee at my favorite Tim Horton's...Brrr. Being with friends and other Tuesday night regulars, is always a boost to my week. There's nothing better than a Gabfest, with your pal, to take the weight of the world from your shoulders. True friends share, not just your victories...but help carry you, when you are low and your burdens heavy.
I heard a Pastor say years ago..."that you need one person, other than your spouse, whom you can trust with anything...and not feel judged, no matter what you confide in them." I have found that true...we cannot go it alone.
Yes, God is there always and He carries us through all things. But, it's good to have someone to cry with, laugh with and hug at the end of the day. Because as you find your way home on a dreary Tuesday night. You are not dreary...your heart is warm and you feel loved, you matter...you are important to someone. Blessings Dear Blog Friends...thank you for listening...You are important to me...you matter.
Love to All!

Different Times
I have decided I was born in the wrong era. This photo caught my eye while browsing old Saturday Evening Post Covers. I would have loved dressing up as these women are, to meet for lunch or just do a little shopping. The days of white gloves and pearls would suit this ol' gal. I enjoy wearing skirts and dresses. But, when I used to show up somewhere in a skirt...I would get a look and questioned as to why I was so dressed up!?
So, to blend in, I am stuck, in these days of jeans, tee shirts and tennis shoes! Which, is where I draw the line...I do not wear tennis shoes! Yes, I own one pair of Reeboks, which I had to wear when suffering from a painful case of Fasciitis and the Foot Dr. insisted, I had to have a walking shoe...Ugh. I have thankfully learned a great exercise, that prevents me from having that foot pain and condition anymore.
Thank the Lord!
Both of my Gramma's were always in dresses...as I child growing up,I never saw them in pants. And that was the norm in my Southern upbringing. Times have certainly changed. Oh, some for better, even I, must admit. But, I still yearn for the day that ladies looked like ladies...so, I will admire these old covers and yearn for a time gone by.
Love to all!
