On Monday's And Love

Around here Monday's are chore days. After the weekend there is usually a good list of things to do. Especially, since I was raised by a Southern Daddy who taught us to honor the Sabbath.
When I was growing up, not many chores were done on Sundays. Oh, the beds were made and since we had to eat Mama cooked and of course, the dishes were washed and the kitchen cleaned up. But that was it! Sunday, was a day of rest and major chores had to wait until Monday. Even after all these years, I still feel the need to honor Daddy's teaching's. After time spent in Church on Sunday mornings, I come home and rest.
So, today was happily spent stripping the bed, laundrocizing, vacuuming and just giving our home a little extra tender loving care. Have I told you how much I love home? It is my favorite place. How does the simple act of adding a new, cute, handmade throw pillow to the Recliner(ordered on Etsy) make my day!?
I guess it doesn't take much to make this ol' gal happy.
And when I get right down to is the simple things in life that make me happy! My choices, make me who I am and I choose, not to try and impress others with worldly goods. After all, they are but wood, hay and stubble. What I do choose, is to leave lasting impressions like kindness, mercy, forgiveness and love. For without love...we have nothing and can be nothing but lost and wandering, in a world without God. Seeking to fill that God void in us, which is simply...Love.
So, my day is done, my chores complete. Tomer has gone to bed and I sit here in the quiet, alone. Thankful, for Monday's and a Daddy that taught me more than he could ever know. Yes, I am happy...for I choose love and I am loved! What more could a girl ask for?

You and I are twins separated at birth I think, Trish. I agree with everything you've said. I love my family and home and that's where I am happiest. And apparently we had the same kind of upbringing too.
