Summer Days

Today was a beautiful day!  Blue skies, lower temps and humidity... had Tom throwing the windows wide open and letting the breezes sweeten up the house.
Oh, how thankful I am for these long summer days.  They seem to pass so quickly now.  As a child, they seemed slower...times different, people kinder, gentler, even neighborly. Not so anymore...sigh.   What has happened to us?  Have we lost sight of what God intended for us...to bear one another's burdens, to love unconditionally and take responsibility for offenses, rather than blame the other person?
Seems this perfect Summer evening has gotten this ol' gal a bit melancholy.  I realize that longing for the past gets me nowhere, that I have to look ahead, expecting that The God of all... will as always, be there for me. And if I strive to seek Him...I will stay on the right path and be a kinder, gentler person...like Jesus.  God is the same...yesterday, today and forever.  In Him nothing changes!  Oh, how He loves us!
I am blessed.

What a beautiful post, dear Trish. I've not been around blogland much these months... but I do want to keep connected with my Scarf Sisters as much as possible. Yes, times are a bit different now - people are more in a hurry, and more preoccupied, so there seems to be less time for deeper and more meaningful relationships. But there is still enough kindness to go around, as I have personally experienced.

I enjoyed being here at your place, even just for a few minutes. Summer breezes, and windows thrown wide open... wish I could spend even an hour or two sitting with you, over pomegranate tea (my favorite)...

Much love
Lidia

There doesn't seem to be much "lingering" today does there? I agree with you, times have changed and we must accept what we need to and savor those days of the past. Maybe if we talk about them enough they will come back...one can dream! Love you Sissy!

I have thoughts of front porch gatherings and neighbors waving. We can start a revival .. one person, wave, kind greeting, good deed at a time. Your post is a good starting point. I love you sister Trish! XxC

Great post and I understand where you are coming from. Things have changed, people have changed and I pray for our world all the time.
