The Week That Was

What an exciting week that it has been!  Our girls made it to the Quarter Finals!  That means that they are ranked 5th in the State for the Jr./Sr. girls.  Whew, it was hot and the Sun was blazing!  But our girls played hard and didn't let either slow them down...not one little bit.  I, on the other hand was thankful that Pinery Park was loaded with shade, which made for a bit more comfort...but it was still HOT!   I am so proud of our Maddy, not just for the great games that she played but for the way she conducted herself.  As always, she was there to give a hug and better still...to be a friend to every girl on that team.  I love you my firstborn Grandbaby...what a blessing you have always been!
Now, for my day...I am making Potato Salad and a Pig Lickin' Cake for our Church Picnic tomorrow.  Thankfully, after the rains, our temps are substancially cooler.  Last year, it was sweltering!  And we Sunday School Teacher's  have the pleasure of setting up and preparing for all things "Picnic."   Oh, and the clean up afterwards. Makes for a long day but it is only once a year and so worth it to fellowship and spend time with those we love...Our Church Family.
Well, onward I go...there's lots to do before I sleep.  Have a blessed weekend...I surely will.

Softball Travels

Well, our Maddy's All Star team won their District Championships!!!  Rah... So, we are off to Grand
Rapids in the morning to cheer those girls on.   Three fun filled days of Softball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie but NO Chevrolet''s...we only drive Ford's in this family!
My Tomer is a Ford Retiree.  Lol.  Later Gator's!

All Star Games And Home

After sweltering temps last week and lots of time spent at the Ball Field..."Hey now Em's an All Star!"   It is sooo nice, to be able to mosey around the yard and enjoy time with my Tomer.  Yes, he still requires my presence after all these years...even if all I do is sit and watch him dead head the plants.  Go figure?  Lol.
I do, though, keep the back porch hosed down and cobweb free and every time that I do...I tell myself that the porch swing and wooden rocker could use a coat or two of paint.  Somehow, I just can't for the life of me decide on a color!  Guess a trip to JoAnn's for some Patio paint is in order... I have a 30 per cent off coupon that needs to be used and you can't beat a good sale now can you?
Tomer and 3 of the Grandbabies are off fishing and I have had the whole morning to myself...Hallelujah... Hallelujah...Ha lay lu jah!!!  The house is in order, the bathroom sparkles and our bedroom has been cleaned from top to bottom.  Yes, it is cobweb and dust bunny free,  furniture is polished and even the rug was washed and is now back in place.   Ahhh.
I have since been trying to talk myself into moving on to the next bedroom but have decided that it can
wait until another day.  Yep, think I'll grab a cup of coffee and my Kindle.  Supper's in the Crock pot and I am foot loose and fancy free!  Catch y'all later!!!
Have a blessed day...God is good and I am surely blessed!

Anniversary Blessing

43 years ago today I married the man that God made just for me.  He, is the best man that I know and that is because of his Mom. She raised him in the ways of the Lord and faithfully, by herself, took 5 boys to Church and loved, loved, loved us all!   So today, I am thinking of my sweet Mom-in-law.  Thank you Mom for showing our boy the way that he should go...he has not departed from them.  Like you he loves the Lord and his family with his whole heart.  Just like you, he has a soft spot for children.  He loves them and they love him back.  And for this I am truly blessed.

Sweet Summertime, Summertime

Summer is here and that means that my Tomer is home.  As always, he is up before the Sun rises
and by the time I roll out of bed he is well into his day.  This morning the sound of the Shop Vac woke me up!  He is busy re-doing our bathroom downstairs and was vacuuming the floor before he started laying the Ceramic Tiles.  Not complaining!  If he is so willing to tackle his Honey-Do list...I will abide by his schedule. I just won't be "bright eyed and bushy tailed" as Mama always said.
So, that means that I have already accomplished a bunch around the house...I can't sit while he is working. Well I could...but it makes me feel guilty and just a wee bit lazy.  Sheesh... I can't keep up with him and later in the day I will be done...finished...beat and he will still be going!  Just like the Energizer Bunny...he goes and goes and me, I am like Dollar Store Batteries.  I start off like gang busters then...Okay, I'm done!   Lol.
Ooh, gotta go!  Guess who just came upstairs and said that we need to make a trip to Lowe's?   Yep, Tomer's on a mission and I guess I'll go along for the ride.  Maybe he'll buy me an Iced Coffee!
Catch Y'all later.
