No Changes Here

Snowflakes handmade by our granddaughter Emilee.

Winter has finally arrived in Michigan! It is cold, so I haven't ventured out anywhere today. Besides it was laundry day and I had a few chores that had been left undone that I had to catch up on.
Hopefully tomorrow, I will finally remove Christmas from our home. I always find myself just a wee bit melancholy and feeling like the house looks dull and drab afterwards...sigh. So, I have decided to let anything that pertains to Winter, remain. Yep, all snowmen and snowflakes get to hang out a while longer. Then it won't look quite so pitiful around here.
There is nothing exciting going on. My Tomer and the Grandbabies are still on Christmas Vacation! They don't go back to school until the 9th, which I find crazy. But what do I know? Lol.
I have no New Years Resolutions, none. I am a person who doesn't like change...a creature of habit you might say. I travel the same routes, shop the same stores, frequent the same restaurants etc.. In fact, most would call me boring! (Just like my Posts) Which are basically, all about serving the Lord, loving and caring for my home and family and for that I am thankful.
God makes us who we are. Some love the limelight and are the life of the party. (Not me) And some are the ones behind the scenes, preparing and then cleaning up after the party. But both are who God made them to be. There is no right or wrong here. Just be who God truly wants you to be...but serve Him with your whole heart!
~Blessings

Sweet post. I will keep my tree up for at least another week. One day I will say enough, and down things will come. Enjoy your week with your grandchildren.

I love your sweet posts and always look forward to them. You are not boring and we are very much alike in the way we live our lives, except that I don't have the joy of grandkids yet and probably won't for a few more years, according to my new daughter in law.
Have a good rest of the week.
Love,
Sandy

Dear Trish,
A happy New year to you and your family.
Your posts are inspiring.
I find grace, peace and lots and lots of love here. How can that be boring?
Those are the essentials of life.
The snow flakes are so cleverly made; very decorative. Bet your grand daughter spent lot of time making them and also that she's proud that you let them be hanging.
I also like the sign, " As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
what a powerful head poster to this new year.

You are never dull or boring; you are treasured and cherished! My decorations are slowly coming down but the tree is still up and on! I love the Christmas tree and it's lights and ornaments. Mine is never fashionable, I have too many memories attached to my old ornaments to throw them out in exchange for fashion. I did get new lights this year which I absolutely LOVE! So, I watch my lights, relive my memories and gather the other things in so I can put it all away when I'm ready! BTW, I love your house! I remember with so much love, the time we spent there and how precious it is to me.

Many hugs.........

Di

Hi Trish! Your posts are not boring!! I found myself nodding in agreement while reading your post...I also feel like the house looks a bit drab after the Christmas decor goes back into the closet. I'm looking around on google for ideas -home made winter decorations using Mason Jars....my new "thing"..always loved Mason jars!

You know, I'm liking your idea of leaving the snowmen and winter decorations untouched for now. I just may adopt that tradition! My tree sits quietly in the corner of the living room - its lights dimmed. To me, it's a sad sight. As much as I always dread decorating for Christmas, once it's done, I don't ever want to undo it!

I've seen your home 'pre-Christmas decor' and it's anything but boring :)

Happy new year as you 'serve up' goodness to the Lord.
