Special

My Tomer holding a gift from one of his special guys.

As some of you know my Tomer is a School Bus Driver. At the beginning of the School year when it came to choosing routes...he decided to choose a route for children with Special Needs. I know that God's prompting made this so.
To go to work and share the joy of these Special Ones has blessed my husband.
He loves, that they tease him as he locks their wheel chairs into place and straps them in...telling him that he needs a comb over because he has a bald spot atop his head. Lol. Or when the older boy sings Rap, though you hardly understand a word he is waving his arms up and down, making up the song as he goes. It is joy, pure joy and they brighten his day and he theirs.
Then when parents greet Tomer at the Bus and say that he was missed while gone Hunting and that their boys only want him...well, that makes my man choke back tears while trying to repeat this to me. God makes no mistakes, never, and I know that Tomer is right where God has placed him. Loving and caring for children, and always being touched by each and everyone of them!
God is faithful! We are blessed!

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes! I had an aunt who was special, and the peeps who cared for her in big and small ways were such a blessing to her and to us!

Well, you know this touched my heart Trish because I knew just what it meant to need caring bus drivers. We were so anxious for years about even letting our Shaun ride a bus. Because he can't speak we knew he'd never be able to tell us if anything happened on the bus. We were blessed to have wonderful caring drivers too and I do not doubt that God placed your husband in that position to bless and be blessed. These special kids really tug on our heart strings. That's for sure.
You are a joy to know! Have a beautiful Christmas!
Love,
Sandy

What a special post this is, Trish. I didn't know Tomer was a school bus driver... but now your story just makes me teary eyed. I was a school principal for nearly eighteen years... and I just know how special those special needs children can be. ANd how loving they can be to someone they feel genuinely loves them in the first place.

I also loved reading your Dec 19 post, Just Living Life.

Yes, we need days when laundry is not calling out our name! I love that!

May you have many days like that... and Happy 60th birthday next year!

Much love
Lidia

Dear trish,
I have been spending a week with my family at my mother's house and therefore been off-line.
I have been a nurse for specially challenged people for 20 years. I know how much God need Tomer to be there for his special children.
Both he and God's beloved are blessed by his acts of love and grace. He shall never want.
A happy Christmas time to all of you
