Ahh...Winter

When we have a snow day, Papa takes full advantage! He and Son-in-law David, bundled up the Grandbabies. (except for Maddy who would rather sleep in) Grabbed their gear and headed to the slopes...a local park that is their favorite place for Winter activities. I surprised them by showing up with camera in hand...what fun!

Here is our future Luge competitor...Xavier laying flat in his sled and flying down hill like a Pro!

Here, he is but a blur, as he picks up speed.

Next up Emilee our Slalom Skier...no fear, as she sails away.

Last but not least, Ian our Snowboarder...extreme sports oh yeah, he is a daredevil. Which makes this ol' Grammy nervous!

I love Winter! The beauty of the snow, the quiet hush as it twirls through the air.
The world seems peaceful and serene. Oh, to look at it through the eyes of a child.
With joy and wonder...instead of wishing it away. Spring will come in due time...
until then I will marvel at the sight, as the sun glistens on the snow and the light dances across its peaks.

Love to all!

She Gimme' Love....Crazy Love

13 years ago today I became a Grammy. What joy, I experienced as I watched Maddy come into this world and hold her in my arms for the first time! I had no earthly idea what crazy love this girl would bring to my life.

Maddy, was just a baby when she made her first trip Up North camping...here she is with Papa...she lights up his life!

She is an avid reader...loves books. (just like her Mama) Looks as if she's crying which is sooo Maddy. When she was in 1st grade the Principal, when describing her to another teacher said..."You know the little Drama Queen"...the teacher knew exactly who she meant..our Maddy!

Happiest in a crowd, Maddy is such a people person and a friend to all.

Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? Like the words of the Michael Buble' song...."She gives me love, love, love ,love...crazy love." Thank you Lord for the gift of Maddy and her love for you!
Happy Birthday Gram's Girl!

Harps, Crowns And Gold

There is no need to be worried by facetious people that try to make the Christian hope of ‘heaven’ ridiculous by saying that they do not want ‘to spend eternity playing harps.’

The answer to such people is that if they cannot understand books written for grown-ups, they should not talk about them. All the scriptural imagery (harps, crowns, gold, etc.) is, of course, a merely symbolical attempt to express the inexpressible.

Musical instruments are mentioned because for many people (not all) music is the thing known in the present life which most strongly expresses ecstasy and infinity. Crowns are mentioned to suggest the fact that those who are united with God in eternity share His splendor and power and joy. Gold is mentioned to suggest the timelessness of heaven (gold does not rust) and the preciousness of it.

People who take these symbols literally might as well think that when Christ told us to be like doves, He meant that we were to lay eggs.”

Love Chapter...1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians 13:3-5 (New International Version)

3. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Painting And Moving

Here it is Saturday morning...Since, we had those Snow Days this past week, my days are a wee bit off.
I reckon, because I have no job, other than caring for my home... Time seems to run together.
There's just Elek and I here this morning. His, Mama called about 8:30 and asked if I was ready for him...Yes siree, I was. Had finished up my chores and had the gate ready to block him from my kitchen. That boy loves to prowl and can get up and down the basement steps in a flash! So, I find that is the best way to keep him in sight at all times. And believe me, it helps keep this ol' Grammy's anxiety at a reasonable level...LOL.
Kell and family are at the house unloading boxes, painting and anxiously awaiting the delivery of their brand new Washer&Dryer...yippee! Papa (Tomer) of course, is with them helping do whatever needs to be done. And by the end of the month they should be settling into their new home. The Lord is sooo good!
We, had our first Life Group on Thursday night. Since, our Church is rather large, this is a way of connecting with people. I must say, that it was a wonderful time of fellowship and making new friends. (There are to be no more than 20 people in each group and we meet outside the Church.) I found, in this intimate setting, that it was easy, to get to know others needs and personalities. What, I wasn't sure of...ended up, being a blessing and I look forward to our time together every week.
Well, I think, that there is a stench in the room and Elek needs a diaper change...shew. I had best sign off for now! Have a blessed peaceful weekend...not sure that caring for a 2 year old will be peaceful but I am blessed surely blessed!

One Day At A Time

I'm sure, that you have heard me whine about not liking to work out...Whaaa! I sit, sipping my coffee, most weekday mornings while Tomer grunts and groans downstairs on his weight bench and happily sings to David Crowder, while wearing my IPod and riding my exercize bike. That I, have used a handful of times since he bought it for me...per my request, over a year ago...sigh.
Are you sitting down? Well, of course you are! I purposed in my heart, this morning after my time with the Lord...that I, Patricia Louise Musser Andrews, will ride that bike at least every other day! I am waiting for the euphoria one feels after working out..so far, not feeling it. But, what I will say is "I feel that I made myself get down there and push past the thoughts of "I do not enjoy this, I do not enjoy sweating," etc., etc., etc., So, the feeling of accomplishment...well, it feels pretty good. I am not tooting my own horn! What, I am trying to say is, we can do all things with the help of the Lord! He alone, can convict me, to take care of this body that He has blessed me with. Not my Tomer...because even though his intentions are good...I tend to get aggravated, when he tries to coax me into getting on that bike. Hey you never know...maybe one day I too will be on that bench grunting and groaning as I press 200 lbs...NOT! But, this is a start and I will take it one day at a time...thank you Lord for strength and health. And please, make me ever mindful of it.

Love to All.

The Party's Over

Xavier William at pre-school

Here it is Monday morning. Another week is past and I haven't had a thing of importance to say.
Today is our Grandboy Xavier's 4th birthday! We had a birthday/super bowl party yesterday after Church at their house. They have a new 50" T.V. that we had to try out...thank God for income tax refunds! Papa ordered chicken wings and nuggets from Chicken Man...Ooh, our favorite place for chicken. Served on the side...rice pilaf, Kell's homemade mac&cheese, potato wedges and salad, with house dressing ordered from Roma's, a local pizzeria. Mandy made the cake...Batman, of course and her new recipe for butter cream frosting, was the best I've ever tasted!
Now, here, is where I must eat some crow. Which, by the way was not on our menu...but eat it, I must! Ahem...after years of hating football and never watching and having the nerve to criticize, those who do. (I just didn't get it?) I watched, the playoff games and the Super Bowl! I know, I know. But, Peyton Manning is my favorite. He, went to the University of Tennessee don'tcha know and because of that, I found myself cheering on, the Colts. But, alas and forlorn to no avail...they lost to New Orleans. A big Congratulations, to all of you Saints fans, they played a great game that caused this ol" Grammy lots of high anxiety moments...good grief! So, to all of you football fans out there...I am sorry, and next season, I will join you in watching our favorite teams...Where I will, of course, be rooting for Peyton and shouting..."Are you ready for some Football?"
Go Peyton!
