Tell Me Daddy...

TELL ME THE STORY OF JESUS
(Fanny J. Crosby - Sweney)

Tell me the story of Jesus
Write on my heart every word
Tell me the story most precious
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell how the angels in chorus sang
As they welcomed his birth
Glory to God in the highest
Peace and good tidings to earth.

Tell me the story of Jesus
Write on my heart every word
Tell me the story most precious
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell of the cross where they nailed him
Write of the anguish and pain
Tell of the grave where they laid him
Tell how he liveth again.

Love in that story so tender
Clearer than ever I see
Stay let me weep while you listen
Love paid a ransom for me.

Tell me the story of Jesus
Write on my heart every word
Tell me the story most precious
Sweetest that ever was heard.

I heard this song this afternoon and it brought back such memories. Daddy, always had a song on his heart! I still hear his beautiful tenor voice singing songs of Jesus...every word is written on my heart.

My mother still has this song as her favorite. Her once so clear voice is more uncertain, because her gradually of loss of hearing. She sings all the verses, and everybody senses these words come from the depth of her heart.

I came over to "meet" you after your comment on my blog - and was pleasantly surprised to be met by this song from MY growing up years, too. Music - particularly music about my wonderful Savior - HAS been and CONTINUES to be an inseparable part of my personal history.
Oh How I Love Jesus!
