Sacrifice and Love

Mama, me on the left, Sherry sitting in seat and Pam. Mama is pregnant with Sheila.

I was blessed with the best Mama that a person could have. There are 8 proud and certainly blessed Musser children! I can't imagine having 6 babies in 7 years...constant diaper changes, feedings, cleaning, cooking. Oh, the laundry and ironing were every day chores! Our home was immaculate and so were we! Mama, kept our shoes polished and our hair just so and with 6 girls that was a job every morning.
We, talk of getting back to the basics. That's how we lived. Being from the South there was always beans simmering on the stove, biscuits or corn bread with our meals. No, loaf bread for us. And growing up, I did not eat breakfast from a box. Mama, always up early, had a hot meal waiting for us.
At the time, we children, took for granted all that she did. But, through the years I realize that her days were long. She worked from sun up to sun down. Never complaining, just doing what she did best...caring for her family.
Now, at the age of 76, she says that "those were the best years of her life and if she could, she would do it all over again!"
Thank you, Mama for everything you poured into me...I saw your examples of love, kindness and how willing you were to help others.
I am blessed by the sacrifices you made...Happy Mother's Day.
Love,
Your firstborn...Patricia

Hi Trish,
Happy Mothers day to you and your dear mom !!
I am so glad they are safe after the flooding.
It is just so sad and hard to look at all of the flooding in our great state of TN.
Blessings to you my sweet friend !!

Dear Trish,
When will we fully understand what our mothers were made of? I also remember my mother doing work all around the clock. Like your mother, she says, "Those were the best days of my life."
When I think of it,it's bringing tears into my eyes.
I just can't wait to pay my mother a visit!
This weekend we'll go!!
