Overkill

The above image is that of a recording made back in 1976, when we had our last outbreak of the Swine Flu. Then, President Gerald Ford wanted to get the message out...Yet, I do not remember the news media making as much of it as they are now. Of course, these days we have hours of news coverage, special reports, breaking news and OVERKILL on every news worthy story that hits the air waves.
I realize that the flu can be dangerous. And I certainly don't want anyone sick. But they are causing a panic when there is no cause, thus far.
They should be in such a panic about the decline of morality, here in what was once the good ol' U.S.A.! Where God is now mocked and some even deny His existence.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that He has everything under control...I trust Him with every part of my life. I also know that He won't stand for such actions. One day his wrath He will pour out on every Nation. Lord, please forgive us our sins and heal our land.

WHAT

Did you hear it??? Where does he live??? Oh, I am mad!!! And anxious to hear your opinions!

Hallelujah

Stellan was released from the hospital this afternoon...walked out in the arms of his joyful Mama!
They have checked into a hotel and are trying to get a flight home. Pray that she gets a flight ASAP because after weeks in a hospital and being away from family...they, I know are longing for the comforts of home and family!
Thank You, Jesus...You are worthy of all praise!

Love to all!

Where I Come From

This is the greeting you will receive as you are entering the town where I was born. It is a place where you are called ma'am and sir, because that's still expected and taught to their young ones. Where groceries are carried to your car by some sweet lad, that's not allowed to take tips...that's part of his job. Where greetings and waves are normal, even to strangers. But, while walking those streets, you do not feel a stranger. You are always a very welcome part of the community.
Where they are proud of their Irish heritage...history is, that in 1863 it was already called Erin. Because the Irish in the work camps, said it was so like their beloved Ireland with it's lush, green hills...beautiful!
So, tonight I am missing my home place...my beloved Erin. Where I feel so deeply connected. Yet, having spent most of my life in Michigan, I do not feel that same connection...this flat land, is not my land. The hills and the red dirt claim me...beckon me. White Oak creek still sings my name. And I, but close my eyes and hear the voices of my past...whispering this is home.

Love to all!

Born Of God

7. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
8. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Hey Ya'll

It is cooler here than normal...there has been no capris or sandals worn by this ol' gal. But that is fine, for as long as I am home...I am Happy!
Today I will be found traipsing this countryside...visiting Daddy's grave and enjoying a trip down memory lane.
Later it's home to make Potato Salad. Bobby's going to the best barbeque place around and getting some pulled pork and barbeque beans to go with it...Yum!
Tomer just called...he finally got himself a Turkey this morning! Now, he and Cape
(brother-in-law) are headed to the restaurant to get some breakfast and I'm sure relive the story of this morning's hunt...over and over again!
Pray all is well!

Love Ya'll!

Jelly Beans...Mmm.

I don't know about you...but when Easter is drawing near...I want Jelly Beans!
And while at the Mart a few days ago, I went up and down, back and forth that Easter candy aisle...searching to and fro, high and low. And not one bag could I find! Oh, there were Jelly Bellies, Starburst and Lifesaver flavors. Why, they even had pastel colors and speckled varieties of weird tropical flavors. And last but not least, I can't forget the Mike and Ike varieties. Alas...not one regular bag of Jelly Beans, like the ones from my childhood could I find. So, I gave up and went home Jelly Beanless...sigh.
Today, I ran to Family Dollar...Tomer was in need of Cough Drops and a bag of his favorite Butterscotch hard candies. (he keeps them on his school bus at all times) While browsing the aisles....lo and behold, there they were ...plain old regular Jelly Beans!!! Yahoo! I am happy to report that the Antique Candy Dish given to me by my Mom-in-law many years ago, is now overflowing with their deliciousness!
The only thing is...I can't keep my hand out of it! I love Jelly Beans. Oh, how I love Jelly Beans!!! Doesn't take much to make me happy!!!

Love to All!

This Day

On this day April 5, 1952 at 11a.m. and weighing 7lb.15oz. I Patricia Louise Musser Andrews entered the world. My parents...William and Joyce (Carter) Musser sent out announcements proudly proclaiming my arrival. My maternal Great Grandma...Essie Allsbrooks tucked it away. And many years later as she was entering her nineties, it was found among her belongings and given to my Mama, who then passed it on to me.
As I pull the Announcement from inside an envelope, now yellowing from age. Postmarked April 8, 1952 at 9a.m. and wearing a 2 cent stamp. I their firstborn child, am once again reminded just how much joy my birth brought to my Mama and Daddy.
Just as certain I am of the joy it brought my Heavenly Father...my Maker. The one who painted my eyes blue-green and gave me Great Aunt Ruby's fine boned hands.
My God, who knew me in the womb and has carried me everyday of my life...through every circumstance. He is faithful.
Today I am thankful for another year. Blessed to have been placed in the family that God chose just for me. Mostly, I am blessed to be part of the Family of God!
One day as I enter His gates...I will have Eternal Life. I pray that He is pleased with me and count me worthy.

I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care of you from birth. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and I will take care of you.
Isaiah 46:3-4

Hosanna

Another Saturday

1. Got up earlier than I wanted...Miss Em our early bird spent the night.

2. Enjoyed our breakfast of homemade waffles and fresh pineapple...Mmmm.

3. Miss Em is a lover of Infomercials...she is now watching one about the Body Slimmer. "No muffin top here." She lost 6" after squirming into the thing..."Hey! Where do I order...beats dieting."

4. I just enjoyed myself a sneezing fit. Ya know when you sneeze a bizillion times in a row and it sets Niagara flowing!

5. I have to go to a Baby Shower at the Church...looking forward to it.

6. Then it's home to laundrocize...my favorite chore. Ugh!

7. It took me forever to upload the above photo!!! So I haven't accomplished as much as I had planned on. But like Mama always says "it's not going anywhere."

8. Maddy's Swim competition is this morning...Kell called she took a 2nd place. Yahoo! PaPa (Tomer) is there. I couldn't make it because of the shower.
Don't have 10 things to list... gotta go!

Love to All!

I Think I Can...I Think I Can

Another week is drawing to a close. I only had Elek this morning since the schools had half days and Kell was back here by 9:20a.m.. Mmm...what to do with myself???
Loaded dishwasher, wiped down everything in the kitchen, scrubbed the floors, vacuumed, polished furniture and wiped down the bathroom and Swiffered the bathroom floor. Can't forget making the bed and shaking out all throw rugs. Now it's on to some laundry...UGH!
Then I have to shower and make myself presentable because this afternoon it's off to get groceries and a trip to my favorite beauty supply CosmoProf. And that requires hair done and make up on or with all the Professional Hairdressers in there looking their best you come out feeling like a hag...which I do not enjoy.
Then it's home to put things away and throw something together for Supper. Tonight is Ian Phelps and the Divine Miss Em's last Swim Competitions and we can't miss that!!!
I will return home this evening one tired and happy ol' Gram...whereupon I will hit the couch and veg awhile! Just me and my Tomer sitting quietly together...I am blessed!
