Chicago, Leroy And A Wedding

We arrived in Chicago safe and sound. Not thinking, about the time change we were there way ahead of Mama's flight. Which turned out to be a blessing since we had no clue as to where we were going.

And the traffic...just let me say, I was glad that I was not doing the driving.
But the skyline was beautiful!

This is a Limo Driver's solution, to the gate not going up, on the departure side of the Cellular Lot. We watched, as he just pushed it out of the way...wood splintering everywhere. You should have seen the look on the face of the Airport Policeman when he came through on patrol...it was priceless. Midway Airport, is located on the South side of Chicago...can you guess what I was singing? Oh, yeah...it was Jim Croce's, "Leroy Brown." I love me some Jim Croce!

Glenn & Tammy's vows, which they wrote themselves. And my cousin, Glenn didn't even need a cheat sheet! Meet Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Clark, who are now Honeymooning in Hawaii!

This is my Mama, Aunt Brenda (Daddy's Sister) and myself. We shared a wonderful time with Glenn. Made special, by the love and support of family. And of course, lots of hugs because we Southerners are all about hugging! It was, so good to spend
time with Mama...we talked much, laughed much and loved much!!!

Love to All!

Such great pictures Trish. Again, I'm so glad you were able to attend the wedding & spend time with your Mama.

Bad, bad Leroy Brown indeed. Boy do I remember this guy and his songs from way back when.
Thanks for sharing.

I am so glad you had a wonderful time. I have to tell you that I was just talking to my son about Jim Croce this past weekend. You know I am from a Chicago suburb.
We went to see Woody Allen in a theatre in the round and Jim Croce opened for him. Back in the day!

Wow Debby...I would have loved to have seen Jim Croce! My cousin Glenn lives in Round Lake and we stayed in Gurney not far from 6 Flags.

Did you know that Jim Croce's son AJ Croce, is a singer as well and his widow owns a restaurant in San Diego called Croce's Piano Bar.

I have been to Chicago twice-both times when I was in (Catholic, all girls) High School back in the 1970's. We stayed at a woman's college when I was there performing (Ballet) for the National Catholic Education Association and the other time we took a field trip with 2 of the nuns and the only thing I remember is some guy "hitting" on one of them when we were on the "L"! Ha ha! It was a fun packed day and then a Greyhound ride back home late that night!

I am heading to Springfield IL next week for a Beth Moore weekend! Thanks for sharing about the "Bad Bad Limo Driver" (can be sung to the Leroy brown song!)

You can't beat a good Jim Croce song..I belileve we've sung a few together in our day!
Glad your trip was so good, and everyone looks so wonderful!
That limo driver is a little short on patience..I don't think I'd want him driving me around!

Pat...thankfully, other than the driver the Limo was empty. He was waiting in the Cellular Lot to pick someone up.

Dear Trish,
I'm glad everything turned out to your satisfaction. ....and that the limo was empty.
The married couple looks just like an all American wedding couple is supposed to, according to the TV series.
Your Mama is great oo and so are you.

Nice wedding ... and family reunion. A Hawaiian honeymoon sounds perfect too! Jim Croce .. I remember exactly what I was doing when the news of his death came over the radio! Love his music.
