Sunday Scripture

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us...Romans 5:5

New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church...was established in 1823 on White Oak Creek in Stewart County, Tennessee. Thus as a body it continued to march on until the Rebellion of 1861 brought devastation and ruin on our Country, our homes and families. Through which time they had very little regular preaching and the Church got scattered.

The story continues... but when I Googled again to complete this... I could NOT find it...sigh.

This Log Cabin was dedicated on September 5, 1935 by Rev. M.C. Powers...Essie Allsobrooks, my maternal GreatGramma, was an active member and we happily celebrated her 80th birthday on these grounds, almost 30 years ago. It is the Church, where my Mama grew up. And still today, her family has strong ties. They continue to Worship...at this little Log Cabin on White Oak Creek.

Love to All!

What a firm foundation of hope you have, dear Trish! There is something about log cabins that warms my heart... speaks of hard work, resilience, dedication. What a beautiful picture and post you did for today. So encouraging.
