My Favorite Chore

I have been trying to get caught up on my laundry for pretty close to a week now. I seem to almost reach the finish line and WHAM...something happens (life) and it doesn't get touched for a day or two or three. And surprise...I walk into the laundry room and find "a pile, so high a show dog couldn't jump it." Ugh.
To say I love laundry would be a lie. I will scrub everything in sight and enjoy every minute of it! Laundry...not so much.
BUT...I decided instead of murmuring and complaining about Laundrocizing that I will try to tell myself... Just how nice it is to have a Washer & Dryer, running water and yummy smelling detergent and fabric softeners. Why, I even have a stain stick, Oxyclean and good ol' fashioned bleach to get the stains out!
And when I crawl into my bed tonight and slip between freshly laundered sheets...Mmm...I am rich. For many in this world sleep on dirt floors and have not a sheet nor a blanket to cover themselves with. I am sorry Lord.
Forgive me...and help me to be thankful for LAUNDRY.

Love to All!

I remember my Grandma doing laundry in a big wash tub outside! I'm sure you do too. Then that tub was used to bathe dirty grandchildren inside. Oh, we have so much to be grateful for don't we?

For me, it's the dusting! I hate it! I tell myself I'm going to get rid of some of this clutter so I won't have to dust so much of it. Then, when I try to par down, everything has a sentimental attachment and I agonize over what to keep and what to let go! You're right, we are so beyond blessed!

Many hugs...........

Dear Trish,
There are chores and the are other chores. Laundry by me is not the worst. In fact, it's the thing I demand to be in charge of. (Thinking I do it better than lovely hubby or ditto daughter.)
Ironing on the other hand is literally killing my back.
soon its time to iron my linen bunad shirt. Iijjk. Knowing that every lady in town merciless will spot my failing to get the arms wrinkle free or the collar standing stiff upright.
That is a trial.

The blessing is that I have a bunad, sewn by my mother, and as such a priceless treasure.
It would have been tragic to celebrate our constitution day without that wonderful piece of clothing.

Thinking Your way, I am surrounded by blessings.

Laundry and teenage boys! Not one of MY favorite chores either! Still, we are blessed beyond measure! We could be beating our stuff on a rock down at the river! (shivers) No Thanks! WE have self-cleaning ovens how about self-cleaning clothes?

Seems as if we have so much laundry, I often where it comes from with only 3 of us, I dont mind laundry as much as dusting, sweeping and mopping, could do without these but needs to be done !
God is so good to us and we are truly blessed for each day.
Have a wonderful Tuesday, hugs and blessings to you dear friend.
